Nap time is the best time ever!  I love seeing my little men when they are sleeping.  This weekend we did some bed moving/changing and room moving/changing.  It was a big weekend for our family.  Big brother got a new bed and it is in the playroom.  Middle brother got big brother's bed and little brother got middle brother's bed.  Although the playroom is still a play room we are in the process of getting things moved and changed.  I have been a pinning fool trying to find ideas for both rooms that are boy but not too boyish.  I am not a fan of themed rooms (Lightening McQueen, Superman... you get the idea).  I am trying to find something that captures the boys personalities and their interests.  For big brother I am thinking adventure themed... skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, biking.  For the other brothers I am thinking map themed... maps all over the place, an adventure room in another sense.

Happy Mother's Day!  For mother's day we played in the garden all day, a quick trip to Home Depot and a "special" lunch at Subway.  Yep, that is how we roll!  Yard work was on my top priorities, we have a garden to get ready and to plant.  Thankfully the hubby is rather handy and helped me, he got my raised garden beds a little more sturdy, bought me some yard felt and then got me top soil and tilled the beds.  I can't wait to get my seedlings in the ground and reap the harvest that it gives.

With spring time means there is weeding.  My first blister of the 2013 spring/summer yard.  Right in the middle of my palm, how did that happen?  Well actually I know, it is from using the little hand trowel to get all the blasted dandelions out of our yard.  I am convinced that those things are of the devil himself.  They spread like crazy and their roots are long and thick and if you don't get them all they will propagate like none other.  That silly blister looks like nothing but it hurts like the dickens!

Silly little brother!  This little boy feel the need to have an electronic in his hands at all hours of the day.  He is often found hiding using big brothers' nabis.  The crazy thing, is that he knows how to play all the electronics.

Today Big brother had a field trip to the Denver Zoo with his class and then his fifth grade buddies class.  Today was the first time I packed a lunch for brother (I had to pack all items that could be thrown away since the parent helper would have to carry their group's lunches).  I am not a fan of having to use all that plastic and I would much more prefer to use my PlanetWise bags, however it is what it is.  Big brother had a bunch of fun at the zoo.  I asked him what his favorite part of going to the zoo and he said splashing in all the puddles.  Yep, honest to goodness that was his answer.  I knew I was not going to get an earth shattering zoological answer however I did expect more than splashing in the puddles.  Oh well, since we frequent the zoo I guess that is about the only part of the zoo he has never partaken in.  This momma does not like puddle splashing when there are place to go and things to see.  Big brother didn't even get to wear his pants once he got in my car, I made him take his pants off in the parking lot at school before he got in.  His jeans must have weighed a good five pounds, they were soaked from the knees down!
Any how... the first of many more years of packing big brother's lunch for school!

One of my most favorite things about rainy weather is getting to light candles.  I love the warm and inviting feeling that comes from lighting candles.  My mom this past Christmas bought me one of those plug in tart burners and it is great for adding fragrance to a room but it does not invoke the same feelings of warm, inviting and peaceful for me that my cheap-o tea lights do.  I recently saw a pin on pinterest to add washi tape to the cheap tea lights and make them more decorative... so I have been doing that too.  Yay, for inexpensive adds to my house that make it feel homey!

Spring time... well maybe.  Snow, sunshine, rain, thunder, hail, and lightening.  Gotta love spring in Colorado.  I have a bunch of work to be done in the yard however the weather is as fickle as a two year old child... so outside work is being planned and nothing is actually being done.  My garden gloves are new and ready to get dirty!

Flag football practice... today for practice they worked on chasing ONLY the boy that has the football.  I guess that comes into play since our big brother does not understand the whole flag pulling concept.  At his game on Saturday he spent the majority of the time just chasing any flag he could find.  The pure enjoyment that big brother gets out of flag football make my heart happy.  He is such a great athlete and has so much fun.  Love that big brother!

Cousins!  The faces all make me laugh.  Okay, I really did get a better picture but really, who doesn't feel a smile tug at the corners of your lips when you see this?  The sun was shinning so bright and unfortunately we were sitting next to the smokers tower... Yuck, the smell was deadly!  Needless to say, when you have four boys under the age of six and request them all to smile, means apple incentives are needed and well, frankly not everyone will smile.

With all the family in town they didn't merely come to visit my middle sister was in a Roller Derby tournament.  We went and watched one of her bouts.  She rocked it in her true Gidget nature.  I know nothing about Roller Derby all I know is that there were some big falls, pushing, shoving and a lot of laughter on my part.
